CAREER START PROGRAM

The Career Start Program (previously known as Certificate 3 Guarantee) is designed to help individuals gain the skills and qualifications needed to begin or progress in their careers.

Whether you’re starting fresh or looking to move into a more secure, full-time role, this program provides practical training aligned with real industry needs.

QLD SECURITY or PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR LICENCE TRAINING PROGRAMS


Regal Security and Industry Training Pty Ltd,  RTO 32331 is a highly reputed Gold Coast QLD owned and operated professional and experienced security services and RTO provider since 2010 of nationally recognised programs and courses for new QLD security or weapons licence applications and current licence holder function refreshers and attaining regulatory ASQA and QLD PQS RTO compliance as a QLD funded program preferred provider since 2016, with the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training (DESBT) VET Investment program and a Skills Assure Supplier (SAS) 01/07/2022 – 30/06/2023.

Regal Training’s blended learning program and course resources acknowledge work/life balance, commitments and transferrable workplace skills to the security industry, with TAE qualified, highly experienced security industry professionals support and guidance.

Regal Security & Industry Training is a training RTO provider and NOT a CRICOS RTO provider

Career Start Program (previously known as Certificate 3 Guarantee Program): Have you not completed, or are you not currently completing, a Certificate III or higher qualification (excluding qualifications completed at school and foundation skills training)? Are you looking to build your skills for employment, return to the workforce, or advance your career?

The Career Start Program is designed to support individuals in gaining the qualifications needed to start or progress in their careers.

School Leavers: The Queensland Government is committed to helping young people successfully transition from school into the workforce. Students who have completed a VETiS qualification (Certificate III or higher) at school may still be eligible to access further post-school training under the Career Start Program.

Pre-requisites 

To access a subsidised training place under Career Start, a student must meet the following criteria:

  • aged 15 years or older
  • not be a school student
  • permanently reside in Queensland, be one of the following:
    • an Australian citizen
      • Australian permanent resident (includes humanitarian entrant)

      • a New Zealand citizen
      • a temporary visa holder with the right visa and work permission who is on a pathway to permanent residency
    • not already have a certificate III or higher qualification completed within the last 10 years (qualifications completed as a school student, and foundation skills qualifications don’t count)
    • not be enrolled in another qualification, even if it’s on hold or deferred, whether funded by the Department of Trade, Employment and Training or not (foundation skills qualifications don’t count).
    • Reading, writing and verbal English (min. Grade 10 level) highly recommended i.e 2-way radio, direct client, colleague, patron communication and report completion to security industry standards.
    • Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) pre-enrolment checklist completion for ACSF LLN level 3 gap modification adjustment. If maths, reading or writing training support is required, assistance is available from an approved Foundation Skills (read, write, maths) Certificate 3 Guarantee provider or QLD TAFE English language and literacy (TELLS) services or relevant support services for pre-enrolment LLN upskilling, confidentially agreed by trainer and student before enrolling in the Certificate 3 Guarantee / Boost Program.
    • Unique Student Identifier (USI) number – access here for your U.S.I for competent program certification issuance
    • Program/Course Handbook access for trainer/student responsibilities; competency-based VET training and assessment principles and tools; LLN, RPL; refund, review and appeal processes.
    • Certificate 3 Guarantee Program Handbook access for information on trainer/student responsibilities; competency-based VET training and assessment principles and tools; LLN, RPL; refund, review and appeal processes and forms.
    • Meet QLD security licence application  conditions and eligibility including Part 10: disqualifying offences and maintain security licence holder eligibility – disqualifying offences.

Evidence of program eligibility criteria: 1 type of evidence for each category

QLD permanent residency status: QLD Driver licence; Adult Proof of Age Card; QLD heavy vehicle or marine licence;

One additional form of evidence to support QLD permanent residency status:

  • residential utilities account i.e electricity, gas or telephone account issued within the last six (6) months
  • lease/rental agreement,
  • Bank statement issued within the last six (6) months
  • QLD Driver Licence Receipt
  • Contract of property purchase; QLD local government rates notice; mortgage/land ownership certificate
  • Official letter from Centrelink or the Australian Government Department of Human Services
  • ATO or QLD AEC or local government notice
  • Australian Electoral Commission document (e.g. electoral enrolment letter or card
  • Australian Taxation Office assessment/Tax File Number confirmation notice.

 

Citizenship status: Medicare card (green); Australia, New Zealand or international passport with Australian citizenship certificate. Australia or New Zealand Birth certificate/extract. Current VEVO verification document confirming Australian permanent resident (incl. humanitarian entrants); or temporary resident status with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency.

Concessional fee eligibility: Health Care or Pensioner Concession card holder (or their partner or guardian) or with a disability or of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent.
